Manage notifications and reminders

Choose which local reminders Train Libre can send, and use your device settings to control notification access and previews.

Open notification settings#

  1. Tap your profile button, then open Settings > Notifications.
  2. Under Goals & reviews, turn on or off Weekly review ready, Adaptive recommendation due, or Target date guidance.
  3. Under Workout plan, turn on Remind me on workout days and set Reminder time if you want a reminder for planned sessions. For how workout-day reminders follow a plan, see Create and follow a training plan.

Workout-plan reminders are scheduled only for upcoming planned workout days in the active plan. Rest days, past sessions, and sessions already resolved do not generate reminders. The app keeps upcoming reminders synchronized when the active plan or reminder settings change.

What the reminders do#

  • Weekly review ready alerts you when a 7-day goal review is available.
  • Adaptive recommendation due alerts you when an update to daily targets is due.
  • Target date guidance schedules a reminder seven days before an active goal's target date and another on the target date, both at 9:00 a.m. local time. A reminder is only scheduled if its date is still in the future.
  • When a workout rest timer ends, Train Libre shows a Rest finished notification. There is no separate rest-timer notification switch in Notifications; use the rest timer in a workout as usual.

Allow notifications on your device#

Train Libre's switches control individual reminders inside the app. Your operating system also controls whether Train Libre may display notifications. If workout reminders cannot be enabled, or reminders do not appear, allow notifications for Train Libre in your device's system settings. The app requests notification permission, but a denied system permission can prevent notifications even when an in-app option is on.

Goal and review reminder switches do not prompt for permission themselves. Weekly reviews that become available while their reminder is off or system notifications are denied are not sent later if you turn notifications on; the setting applies to future reviews. Device settings also control lock-screen previews and quiet hours.
