Get started with Train Libre

Set up your profile, choose how Train Libre displays information, and find the app’s main sections.

Complete the initial setup#

  1. On the welcome screen, choose Set Up Profile. Use Next and Back to move through setup; the final button is Start Tracking.
  2. Choose Metric (kg, cm, ml) or Imperial (lbs, in, fl oz), choose your food database region, and select a Training experience level: Beginner, Advanced, or Pro.
  3. Enter your date of birth and gender, height, and current weight. Body fat is optional. The app requires users to be at least 16 years old.
  4. Continue through Current Activity and the nutrition-goal pages. You can skip setting a personal nutrition goal; if you set one, review the recommendation before continuing. You can change daily targets later in Daily Targets and manage a weight goal in My Goals.
  5. On the workout-history page, import a supported file or continue without importing. You can import later from Settings; see Import workout history and other data.
  6. Review the health-permission choices and enable the connections you want. You can change them later under Profile > Settings > Health; see Connect health data.

If you are restoring data, choose Restore from Backup on the welcome screen. On Apple devices, Restore from iCloud appears when a backup is available. A restore replaces the data on the device; see Import workout history and other data.

Edit your profile#

  1. Tap the profile button in the top-right corner of a main screen to open Profile.
  2. Tap the profile card to edit your name, date of birth, or gender. Tap your profile picture to add or change it. Height is collected during setup but is not editable from this profile dialog.
  3. Tap Save.

Change app preferences#

  1. From Profile, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Appearance. Choose System, Light, or Dark. You can also turn Haptic feedback on or off. On Android, Material colors switches between dynamic system colors and Train Libre’s brand accent.
  3. Under Unit System, choose Metric (kg, cm, ml) or Imperial (lbs, in, fl oz). Train Libre uses the selected system for supported measurement displays and entry fields.
  4. Under Additional Nutrient in Overview, choose Fiber, Sugar, or Salt for the extra nutrient tile in the Diary overview.
  5. Under Training experience, choose Beginner, Advanced, or Pro to set the detail level for muscle terminology and intensity columns. Under Training progression, choose Off or Suggest. Suggest can prefill eligible workout set weights and repetitions from your history; see Workout progression for how suggestions work.
  6. Open Calculation basis to set Baseline daily activity and Extra cardio/endurance outside the app, then tap Save. Baseline activity is separate from extra cardio. Extra cardio covers endurance exercise not logged as Train Libre workouts. These settings inform the adaptive nutrition recommendation; see Adaptive nutrition goals for details.

Find the main sections#

  1. Use the bottom navigation bar to open Diary, Workout, Statistics, or Nutrition.
  2. Tap the profile button at the top right to open Profile, where you can reach Settings and your profile information.
  3. Tap the + button beside the bottom navigation bar for shortcuts to common actions, including adding food or a measurement and starting a workout.

You can change these preferences later in Settings. Changing the unit system does not require repeating setup.
