Connect health data

Connect Apple Health or Health Connect to view steps, sleep, pulse, and supported body measurements in Train Libre.

Connect a health source#

  1. Open Profile > Settings > Health. On iOS, the page heading is Apple Health; on Android, it is Health Connect.
  2. Turn on the switches for the data you want Train Libre to read. Each switch requests the corresponding permission from Apple Health or Health Connect. Approve access in the system prompt.
  3. If a permission was denied or changed later, review Train Libre’s read access in Apple Health or Health Connect settings. The status below each switch shows whether access is ready, partial, denied, or unavailable.
  4. To refresh records manually, use the refresh action beside Enable steps tracking, Enable sleep tracking, or the body-measurement option. The action labels are Sync steps now and Import sleep data now; body measurements use Import now.

Train Libre reads data from the health store on the device. Steps, sleep, and pulse are opt-in separately. Enabling body-measurement import requests access and imports available records; it reads weight and body fat on both platforms, and waist measurements from Apple Health. Train Libre skips its own measurement records. Health Connect may provide only recent body-measurement history unless full-history access is available.

Find imported data#

  • Steps: Open Diary and choose a day. The Steps card appears when there are step records for that day. In Statistics, the Steps card appears when step tracking is enabled. Tapping it opens Steps at Day for today, regardless of the hub period. In Steps, choose Day, 7D, or 1M; the date controls and picker move this view independently. Day shows an hourly timeline, total, active hours, and peak hour. 7D shows daily steps for the week. 1M shows daily steps for the month and a summary with average per day and goal progress. The source name and last update may appear below the chart. Step counts and the goal line depend on available records and your step goal.
  • Sleep: Open Diary and choose a day with sleep data, or open Statistics > Recovery > Sleep score. The hub card summarizes the current day; it does not pass the hub’s selected period into Sleep. In Sleep, choose Day, Week, or Month, then use the date label, arrows, or date picker to select a calendar period. On Day, tap Duration, Heart rate, Regularity, Depth, or Interruptions to open that metric’s detail chart. Week and Month summarize scored nights and let you select a day to open its daily view. Missing sleep records, unavailable permissions, or too little data can leave metrics unavailable or show an empty-state message. For how the score is calculated, see Sleep scoring.
  • Pulse: Open Statistics > Recovery > Pulse. The hub card uses the selected hub period as its label, but the Pulse detail screen opens at Day for today. Choose Day, Week, or Month and use the date controls to change its period. The screen shows Range, Average, and Resting in bpm; its chart shows samples over the day or resting values over the week/month. Sample count and a data-quality label help you judge sparse coverage. If there are too few samples, the chart may explain that it cannot show a reliable chart; if there are no samples, the screen explains whether tracking is disabled, access is denied, or the platform is unavailable. Resting pulse is an estimate for tracking, not a medical measurement.
  • Body measurements: Imported measurements appear in Statistics > Body measurements. This opens Measurements with its own date range, independent of the hub selection. For charts and editing measurement entries, see Record body weight and other measurements.

For the full hub range behavior and its other cards, see Read the Statistics hub. For weight and calorie comparisons, see Read Body & Nutrition statistics.

Train Libre checks for new steps and sleep records when health data is loaded in Diary, and may refresh them when the previous sync is at least six hours old. Sync steps now refreshes step records; Import sleep data now requests up to 365 days of sleep history. Pulse is read for its analysis view when Enable pulse analysis is on; there is no separate pulse import button. For workout, sleep, and activity records written from Train Libre to the health store, see Exporting and backing up data and Health sync and export. For other supported imports, see Import workout history and other data.
